Can the Hagas be beat?

(Short version: no) Aggies Chad Haga and younger brother Shane (both McKinney, TX) dominated the Men’s A racing this weekend at Rocky Hill Ranch hosted by Texas A&M but it wasn’t a clean sweep for the Aggies. The Men’s C races had a couple of winners with Bowman Maze (Austin, TX) from Texas State taking Saturday’s short track event and the University of Texas’ Chris “Aussie” Watkins (Melbourne, Australia) taking the cross country race. In the Men’s B racing, the Aggies had their way with Ben Silva (San Antonio, TX) taking the cross country and short track races. In the women’s racing, the “Battle for the Lone Star State” heated up as A&M’s Katelyn Spradley (Edmond, OK) and Texas’ Chelsea Lawson split the short track and cross country respectively.

The SCCCC now takes a few weeks off while we send riders off to mountain bike nationals at Lake Tahoe. Racing comes back October 30-31 in Glen Rose, Texas for the conference championships where glory will be earned, dreams will be broken and a great time will be had by all.
